About BenchmarkXPRT

The BenchmarkXPRT tools are a set of apps that give you the power to test how well devices do the kinds of things you do every day. The BenchmarkXPRT tools at your disposal currently include:

• CloudXPRT, a cloud benchmark that can accurately measure the performance of cloud-first applications deployed on modern infrastructure as a service (IaaS) platforms
• WebXPRT, an online tool to test the Web browsing capabilities of any device with Internet access
• AIXPRT, an AI benchmark tool that makes it easier to evaluate a system's machine learning inference performance by running common image-classification, object-detection, and recommender system workloads
• CrXPRT, an app to measure the capabilities and battery life of Chrome OS-based devices
• HDXPRT, a more technical program to test the capabilities and responsiveness of PCs
• TouchXPRT, an app to test the media capabilities and responsiveness of Windows 10 devices
• MobileXPRT, an app to test the media capabilities and responsiveness of Android devices

In the tech biz, many people refer to these tools as “benchmarks.” That means they’re designed to test a wide range of devices on a level playing field. When you look at results from XPRTs, you get unbiased, fair product comparison information.

Technology manufacturers, developers, and sellers; tech-review websites like AnandTech and Hardware.info; and consumers like you. The XPRTs are a great resource for anyone who wants an even playing field to compare devices against each other.

The BenchmarkXPRT Development Community is a forum where registered members can contribute to the process of creating and improving the XPRTs. If you are not currently a community member, we encourage you to join! (And yes, that means you – our community is open to everyone, from software developers to interested consumers.) Not only will you get early releases of future versions of the XPRTs, you’ll also be able to download the source code (available to members only) and influence the future of the apps. Register now!

Without the community, the XPRTs would not be possible. Community members can do all of the following and more:

• Submit comments, suggestions, questions, and concerns that inform the future design of the tools
• See the proposal for new versions of the tools and contribute comments for the final design
• Access and run community previews of the tools
• Submit source code for inclusion in the benchmarks and examine existing source code (for those with technical skills)

Participation is open to everyone. You do not have to be a developer; in fact, we need perspectives from people who are just learning about these sorts of things. As a BenchmarkXPRT Development Community member, you’ll be able to post in the community forums, where you can share your thoughts and opinions on the XPRTs with other members, and you’ll receive a monthly newsletter updating you on all the XPRT news. You’ll have access to community previews and Beta versions of the tools before they go out to the general public; the source code for all the tools; and an ongoing opportunity to shape their futures.
