To explore how vSphere 8.0 can simplify PowerEdge configuration, management, and monitoring tasks, we connected to a remote data center equipped with new PowerEdge R6625 servers and had full control over deployment of VMware ESXi hosts, configuration, updates, and more. We used hands-on testing, documentation, and extensive in-house experience with previous vSphere versions to evaluate some of the new management features available in vSphere 8.0.
In the environment we tested, our engineers were able to simultaneously configure and manage multiple hosts in a cluster, update hosts quickly without migrating VMs, regenerate unique security keys for cloned VMs, and remediate multiple hosts in parallel. These findings mean that equipping your admins with the latest 16th Generation Dell PowerEdge servers and vSphere technology could translate to better hardware and software performance, less IT time spent on routine management and maintenance, and less downtime.
