These are exciting times for PC users, as the blend of latest-gen hardware, new operating system capabilities, and mainstream AI is expanding our understanding of what a personal computer can do. Many businesses are exploring the ways that AI can revolutionize existing operations or enable completely new categories of products and services. In these early days of the AI revolution, it may seem like the possibilities are endless, but some organizations may find that older hardware and software are placing very real limits on what they can do. Because support for Windows 10 will end in 2025, now may be an excellent time for companies to gear up for AI by upgrading to new PCs equipped with Windows 11 Pro and latest-gen Intel processors. With any device upgrade decision, it’s important to know whether the new gear can handle current and future business needs. With the specialized and computationally intense demands of AI, proven performance is more important than ever.

We used the Procyon AI Computer Vision benchmark to compare the AI performance of three new Lenovo PCs—a Lenovo ThinkBook 13x Gen 4, a Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 5, and a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 12—to earlier-generation versions of the same systems. All three of the new Lenovo laptops we tested featured NPU-equipped Intel Core Ultra processors and ran Windows 11 Pro. In our tests, we found significant AI performance advantages for the three new Lenovo PCs compared to their older counterparts. We also assessed the AI capabilities of the new PCs and found that they offered a host of new AI features and enhancements that are not available with the older laptops. In addition, they had the ability to run specialized AI video-enhancing software—something the older systems couldn’t do.

Our research and test results indicate that investing in these new Lenovo laptops—featuring Intel Core Ultra processors and Windows 11 Pro—could help organizations equip their workplace for an exciting AI-infused future.
